Welcome to The Crystal Lake Alpaca Farm & Boutique- Northern Michigan’s original alpaca farm and boutique located in beautiful Frankfort, Michigan! We are a multi generation family run farm that specializes in alpaca breeding and sales, quality alpaca products, and a fun destination for the whole family to enjoy.

The first group of alpacas arrived on our farm in 2001 and we quickly fell in love with the disposition and sweet faces these creatures have. Since 2001 we have birthed hundreds of babies on our farm and have sold many alpacas to other farms across the country looking to improve their breeding program and bloodlines. The Crystal Lake Alpaca Farm has received multiple national recognitions for the quality of the animals that reside on our farm, including Small Breeder of the Year in the United States. If you are looking to become part of the alpaca industry and own some of these enchanting animals our farm provides 25 years of experience with alpacas. Whether you are looking for fiber alpacas, alpacas for pets, 4-H alpacas, or want to become a top alpaca breeder we have a wide selection of alpacas for you to choose from. We provide one on one mentorship and will be there to help you through the whole process of alpaca ownership.

In 2012 we renovated a barn on our property and turned it into a boutique to share the wonders of alpaca products to all who visit. The barn features northern Michigan rustic charm from wood that was harvested off our property and built by the owner himself! Alpaca fiber is softer than cashmere, warmer than wool, and hypoallergenic. We believe it is important to provide top quality alpaca product to everyone, and that is just what you will find when you walk through our doors. We carefully select and work hand in hand with our distributors to bring customers the best quality alpaca there is. You can count that when you purchase an alpaca product from The Crystal Lake Alpaca Farm & Boutique that you are purchasing “true” alpaca that will withstand time and you will be able to pass it on for generations to come. Our boutique features sweaters, socks, hats, mittens, scarves, shawls, blankets, and so much more! Most products are purchased through fair trade from Peru, but you will also be able to find many handmade items made from Crystal Lake Alpaca fiber. Today, Crystal Lake Alpaca Farm features two retail boutiques on the farm, a retail boutique in Travers City, Michigan, as well as a luxury line boutique in Bay Harbor, Michigan.

Family is near and dear to our hearts at Crystal Lake Alpaca Farm and we strive to bring joy and excitement for the whole family! Customers are welcome to visit our Animal Park where they can pet and feed the alpacas and meet with mini donkeys. The farm also offers a children’s play area and multiple picnic tables. Customers are welcome to bring their own food and drinks while they sit and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the alpacas grazing in the pastures as you eat. If you happen to visit in the spring/early summer or fall you might even be able to witness an alpaca birth!
